My Story

ChatterboxArt is currently a one person enterprise, represented by myself, Laura Varga.

My love for art, developed over a number of years, through experimenting with various media (floristry for over 10 years, amateur traditional arts practitioner throughout my life and by studying Design for Games over a 3 year BA course at Plymouth College of Art).

While working on, and developing my college final year Research Project, I have been extremely privileged to have the support of Hyde Park Infant School in Plymouth who have tested Larry the Hairy Friendly Bear (see Other Projects page) – an interactive digital story for children aged 4-7 years old, and have made a great contribution to my research through detailed feedback provided in questionnaires related to learning of 4-7 year olds in a school setting.

This collaboration led to the start of a great relationship with the above mentioned school and, in June 2015, once I have achieved my Bachelor of Arts degree, Digital Artists was born – an afterschool club for children in Early Years Foundation Stage, Years 1 and 2 in Hyde Park Infants School.

From January 2022, in response to numerous requests, Digital Artists became available to Hyde Park Junior School children too.
